Re: New Phono Stage Bake Off
I quote your post.
"Bury your hatred for fuses and MCRU and be a man and turn up."
You made it on-topic, if you are embarrassed to talk about then don't bring it up.

Re: New Phono Stage Bake Off
It is not a hatred of fuses, it is a hatred of bullshit and slurp. FFS man you are selling a product that is illegal in the UK whether you like it or not. No where else has plug fuses, and they have to have protection and a *specifically* build for that purpose, and a standard internal glass fuse, n...

New Phono Stage Bake Off
Venue required. Doesn't have to be large. Two requirements 1/ you don't ban me from attending   2/ not too far from Brum. Anytime in the summer months, sooner better. Components - originally suggested as a mk2 of the one last summer in Uddersfield as the Firey Vivant has progressed and he ...

Re: Fane 12-250TC Retro Speaker.
I am biased as I have a distaste for them. I find them artificial and unmusical. PLUS, that company (forgotten the name) that recommends you run a line level (I presume) from the speaker terminals. When they were popular I lost a few amps because of them. Not sure why but just said NO SUBWOOFERS it ...

DO NOT run the subs off a NVA circuit amp.

Re: DIY Transistor Amp Using NVA Boards
I wouldn't advice mixing the valve with the solid state. NVA has different input sensitivity to account for the loss of gain from a passive pre-amp. It would be nice to hear from you the benefits or not, strong points v weak points of the valve v solid state amps as I have very little experience of ...

Re: DIY Transistor Amp Using NVA Boards
I am not starting to supply for DIY or kits, it is too much hassle and potential magic smoke, BUT Stu and Steve were different. Stu is hilarious (chainsaw hi-fi) plus a good solid state understanding and he entertains us at HFS with his continuous hi-fi adventures. Steve is just a nice bloke who app...

Re: Richard Dunn
This would be very interesting. Could it happen?? It would be lovely if we could all get on. The passion for Music and it's reproduction is evident across the forums. I would be happy to participate in a fresh start with all. ☮️ You are a member of HFS, just post. Need to speak to your man again, t...

Re: Richard Dunn
Sadly Noddy hasn't changed, it was just a wind up, he still wants conflict, so back on block.
Sorry ed I don't want any of this as well. The only person who can stop it is Nick, but it does show people for what they are.

Richard wrote on HFS today "I am willing to declare peace with anyone, even Marco (but I doubt it would last as he will motivate more pisstake - bound to happen), all it needs is to declare *day one* start a fresh and don't refer to the past, and don't create any more conflict that has to be r...

Re: Thermal transfer and shimming adhesive
Sorry but you didn't understand, you need to read my last post again. It nothing to do with touching the transistor it is the exposed head of the screw and losing internal insulation from a short circuit fault due to loose cable, which is what the regs are about. They presume there can be a single f...

Re: Thermal transfer and shimming adhesive
Nick I am certain there are other ways to do it to solve the problem. It is even possible to produce Class II product with a metal case but just more faff. I love simple solutions and this is a simple solution. Same as with Class I the main thing is coping with a single failure, mainly a wire with p...
