Re: OK…so I’m on wi’ summat
I have not tried it with a output stage, but certainly with interstages, small cathode caps can work a little different than you would from those calc's. The fact that you have a inductive load instead of a resistive one can give you a small (though helpful) inductive peak at LF via the LC circuit c...

Re: The Quackery Thread
have never yet been really cold. If you have never been, I can thoroughly recommend Iceland. Iceland's a doddle! Lovely as it is (we really like it), it's not that cold... Try spending a winter in Newfoundland and Labrador - we hit -40C (before windchill) in Labrador which I remember well as it's t...

Instead of looking at whats broken, point your gaze at the ones that broke it.Benefits are broken and so is the NHS.

What an interesting valve. A one socket push pull output stage.

I would check the frequency response. 470u and 10r is at 33hz -3dB

Re: C3g Aikido Phono
I have a phono stage PCB with a transistor socket for the jfet. Just sort by the anode voltage on the ECC88 on top of the fet. I have found that that single measurement is good enough to sort by op point in the phono stage and gain is directly correlated to that voltage.

Re: C3g Aikido Phono
Don't know, the ones I sent are not matched in any way other than they are outside (on one side) the range of values that I want to use in my phono stage, but that's just to allow simple "build and it just works", So they will be closer matched than just buying a bag from the makers. 2 or ...

Re: C3g Aikido Phono
Whilst thinking about drafting a pcb for this it occurred to me that the drain resistor I'd drawn for the second LSK170 is bypassed by the paralleled output from the second LSK170. The more I think about this the more I'm confusing myself. So I think I need a common drain resistor rather an individ...

I would strongly consider batteries of some form. Floating, quiet, whats not to like.

Re: Nothing In Particular
The only reason he could think of as to why not was to increase profits for the meter manufacturers It may also be because they think it would be better if all the meters in the UK were at most 10 years out of date when it comes to new features. I can understand that that would be a worthwhile targ...

Re: Nothing In Particular
Seems like this is known and expected (and not only the case for smart meters) All gas meters (Smart and traditional) have an internal battery that power them. This is designed to last for up to 20 years, with a meter recertification (exchanging the meter to replace it with a new one) scheduled ever...
